Additional File History Availability
Delivery Information:
A confirmation will be sent prior to processing every order. In the
event that your order takes more than 2 business days to complete, we'll
send status to you via e-mail or fax updating you with the latest information
regarding your order. We understand that it is important for you to know
the status of your order.
File history orders begin processing immediately upon receipt. Delivery
time will vary depending on file availability from the United States Patent
and Trademark Offices.
We are happy to report to you that we process and ship 87% percent
of the file orders we receive the very next day! This applies to printed,
CD-ROM and Download orders.
Specifically, most US files 4712622 to present ship the
very next day! File histories 4712621 and prior will take and average
of 1 to 3 weeks to ship. This is because the USPTO stores the older files
in warehouses in Suitland MD, and we must wait for the PTO to locate and
retrieve them.
"Lost files" require an Official Search done by the USPTO.
Only 25 to 30 percent of files in official "lost" status are ever recovered
by the USPTO.
"Group/Art Unit files" It is not possible to determine when a
files being held in Group or Art Units at the PTO will be released for
us to copy. In many cases, the examiner is working with the file and will
not release it for us to copy. We are very experienced with Group files,
and we also have associates who specialize in Group file acquisition -
"If it can be had, WE will have it!"
